Learn how Jack Lacalamita was able “to get control” over his weight and food cravings
Nutrisystem, Weightwatchers, Jenny Craig — you name it, New Yorker Jack Lacalamita had tried it. Unfortunately, though, these programs shared a commonality: Lacalamita did not reach his weight-loss goals.
The anesthesiologist said many in his profession have poor lifestyle and eating habits due to difficult, irregular hours and Lacalalmita was no exception. When his doctor suggested Tirzepatide injections he was immediately resistant.
However, one week into trying it out, Lacalamita had already lost six pounds. He knew he wanted to continue, but his doctor could only provide enough for a trial run and Lacalamita’s insurance would not cover the medication. ShedRx was the answer.
He met with one of ShedRx’s doctors who alleviated his fears. “The way you guys do it makes it very affordable,” Lacalamita said. Soon after his initial ShedRx meeting, his prescription was delivered, refrigerated and insulated in its envelope with the syringes, alcohol pads and clear instructions.
Apprehensive of possible symptoms, Lacalamita was pleased to discover “absolutely no side-effects or complications from the medicine.” When his coworker warned he would no longer have four meals a day, Lacalamita did not believe her, yet a week and a half into beginning medication, he found himself lucky to have two meals a day. His desire to eat decreased significantly.
Lacalamita also said he is working out five days a week. While previously used to his after-work nap, he has now found himself with more energy and better sleep at night, allowing his post-work exercise much more attainable.
“I do feel comfortable wearing all the clothes and I do have some new clothes,” Lacalamita said. “You know, your self esteem comes out and you feel better.” He feels that within the past quarter of a century, Tirzepatide is one of the biggest developments in medicine and a “game-changer.”
Because he is no longer food-focused throughout the day, Lacalamita is saving 40-50% on groceries and skipping snack stops on the way home from work. When his colleagues order food it no longer bothers him, because he has found freedom from the control food once had over him.
“I don’t live my life around looking at the clock anymore eating,” Lacalamita said. “You feel like a chain has been lifted off you, or some pressure has been lifted off of you to have to eat.”
In addition to this, Lacalamita appreciates the remote aspect of ShedRx. He pointed out that individuals, especially in small towns, may avoid judgment and questions, because they will not run into anyone they know by going into a doctor’s office. Rather, the person is able to maintain their privacy.
With the process being all online, it is also quite convenient, Lacalamita said. He compared ShedRx to Uber Eats, because the product is ordered and delivered all from the comfort of one’s home.
Outside of gardening and golfing, Lacalamita expressed his passion for ShedRx and how the medication has assisted to turn his life around. He stated, “I’m a big believer in the whole concept and the way you guys do it.”
